Course Name: Oral language, Reading, Writing, and Behavior Difficulties in the Middle Elementary Grades: Intervention and Assessment of Co-occurring Difficulties

Course Description: The objective of this mini-course is to introduce graduate-level special education students to oral language disabilities including developmental language disorder (DLD) and its intersection with commonly co-occurring difficulties in reading, writing, and behavior. Students will learn prominent theoretical models of oral and written language development and disorders, including evidence-based practices for screening, assessment, and intervention in co-occurring oral language, reading, writing, and behavioral difficulties in multi-tiered systems of support for middle-elementary ages. All modules are self-contained; students can complete as many modules as desired, though it is recommended to complete all modules.
